"Share to Phone" FAQ

Listed below are Frequently Asked Questions specific to Thwapr's "share to phone" service. If you do not see an answer to your question here then please try the main section of the Thwapr FAQ.

 

How can I use the "share to phone" feature? You can send a video to your own phone or to the phone of a friend or family member in the United States or Canada. An SMS message will be sent with a link to a video, click on the link, and then click the video thumbnail to watch the video. You can also share or tweet the video from your phone by clicking the appropriate button below the thumbnail image.

 

What mobile devices are support the "share to phone" service? This service supports hundreds of phones including major brands such as Apple, Research in Motion (Blackberry), HTC, Samsung, Motorola, SONY, Palm, Sanyo, Pantech, Nokia, UTStarcom LG, and many others. Additional supported phones (both new and legacy) are added frequently. Please email us at support@thwapr.com to request new phones to be supported for this service - List of Supported Devices.

 

Who can I send the video to? You can send the video to anybody including yourself. If you are sending it to a friend or family member it might be nice to let them know beforehand (so they are not completely surprised). Also, keep in mind that you can share or tweet the video to friends and family directly from your phone. Just click the Share to Phone or Tweet It buttons located below the thumbnail of the video you want to share.

 

Will I be charged anything by Thwapr? No, the service is free. Your wireless carrier may charge you for text or data usage if you do not have an appropriate plan.

 

Can I save the video? Yes, all videos that are sent to your mobile number can be accessed at any time by registering with Thwapr. You can then view or share the videos from any mobile device or computer whenever you want. If you would like to Register please go to http://www.thwapr.com and click the big green "Register" button.

 

Why is my video not being sent to my phone? If your video has not been sent to a phone within 10 minutes please try sending it again. If it is still not coming through make sure SMS text messaging is enabled on the mobile phone plan. Also make sure you have not opted out of text messaging from Thwapr. To ensure that you are not opted out please text "Start" to 757575 and then try sending your picture from the website again.

 

Why am I unable to watch the video? If you are unable to watch the video on your phone, make sure you are in an area where you have good cell or wifi reception and try playing the video again. If it still does not work, it may mean that your mobile device is not compatible with the Thwapr video service. Please check the List of Supported Devices to see if your is on the list. If you believe that your device should be capable of playing the video then please send an email to support@thwapr.com.

 

How do I opt out of text messages? If you have mobile service with a United States carrier please text "Stop" to 757575. This will opt you out of any future text messages.

If you have mobile service with a Canadian carrier and would like to stop receiving text messages from Thwapr then please send an email to support@thwapr.com stating you would like to opt out of text messages and please provide your mobile number.
