Listed below are Frequently Asked Questions specific to Thwapr's "send to phone" Photobucket service. If you do not see an answer to your question here then please try the main section of the Photobucket FAQ or Thwapr FAQ.

How can I use the "send to phone" Photobucket feature? You can send a picture to your own phone or to the phone of a friend or family member in the United States or Canada. An SMS message will be sent with a link to a picture. Once the link is selected, the picture will be displayed. In addition to the picture display, a user can choose to download the image to their phone in order to save it to their local picture album / gallery, and/or to use it as phone wallpaper so that it becomes the main picture for the phone’s home screen.

What mobile devices are supported by the Photobucket "send to phone" service? This service supports hundreds of phones including major brands such as Apple, Research in Motion (Blackberry), HTC, Samsung, Motorola, SONY, Palm, Sanyo, Pantech, Nokia, UTStarcom LG, and many others. Additional supported phones (both new and legacy) are added frequently. Please email us at support@thwapr.com to request new phones to be supported for this service. Check below for a list of supported devices.

Who can I send the picture to? You can send the picture to anybody including yourself. If you are sending it to a friend or family member it might be nice to let them know beforehand (so they are not completely surprised).

Will I be charged anything by Photobucket or Thwapr? No, the service is free. Your wireless carrier may charge you for text or data usage if you do not have an appropriate plan.

Why is my picture not being sent to my phone? If your picture has not been sent to a phone within 10 minutes please try sending it again from Photobucket. If it is still not coming through make sure SMS text messaging is enabled on the mobile phone plan (you will need MMS enabled as well if you are using selected Verizon phones). Also make sure you have not opted out of text messaging from Thwapr. To ensure that you are not opted out please text "Start" to 757575 and then try sending your picture from the Photobucket website again.

Why am I unable to view or save the image? If you are unable to save the image to your phone, please refer to the FAQ question below. If you are unable to view the image or save it after reading the below FAQ then please refer to our Supported Devices list at the end of the page as your phone may not be supported by the Thwapr (Photobucket) service. If your phone is not supported and you would like to see it included please email us at support@thwapr.com with your phone brand and name, model number, and carrier and we will see if we can add it.

How do I save the picture to my mobile device?

Keep in mind that these are directions on how to save the picture to your device. If you wish to set it as your phone's wallpaper each model varies. Many devices allow you to set the picture as a wallpaper at the same time you are saving the picture so look for that option. If there is no option present then you will need to find your device's image gallery and then set it as the wallpaper from there.

• iPhone - Click on the link in the SMS text message. It should open your mobile device's web browser. Your picture will appear. Click on the picture. The picture will load again. Hold your finger down on the image until you are given the option to save.
• Android - Click on the link in the SMS text message. It should open your mobile device's web browser. Your picture will appear. Click on the picture. The picture will load again. Hold your finger down on the image until you are given the option to save.
• Windows Mobile - Click on the link in the SMS text message. It should open your mobile device's web browser. Your picture will appear. Click on the picture. The picture will load again and you will notice that there is the option to "Save As" on the bottom left of your screen or go to the "Options" menu and select "Save"
• Blackberry - Click on the link in the SMS text message. It should open your mobile device's web browser. Your picture will appear. Depending on which version of the Blackberry software you have you can either click the Blackberry menu button and select "Save Image" or you may have to click on the image first and let it load and then click on the Blackberry menu button and select "Save Image".

Mobile devices that are running software different than any of the above depend mostly on which carrier you have.

• AT&T - Click on the link in the SMS text message you receive. If you are unable to click on the link by scrolling over it with the directional pad then you may have to click Options or Menu (varies based on phone model) and look for "Extract Data",  "Use Address", or you may even need to press the "Send" key on your phone to get to the appropriate menu (again varies based on phone model). After clicking on the web address the browser on your phone will open and the image will be displayed. Click on the image and you will be asked if you want to save the image.
• T-Mobile - Click on the link in the SMS text message you receive. If you are unable to click on the link by scrolling over it with the directional pad then you may have to click Options or Menu (varies based on phone model) and look for "Extract Data", "Use Address", or you may even need to press the "Send" key on your phone to get to the appropriate menu (again varies based on phone model). After clicking on the web address the browser on your phone will open and the image will be displayed. Click on the image and you will be asked if you want to save the image.
• Sprint - Click on the link in the SMS text message you receive. If you are unable to click on the link by scrolling over it with the directional pad then you may have to click Options or Menu (varies based on phone model) and look for "Extract Data", "Use Address", or you may even need to press the "Send" key on your phone to get to the appropriate menu (again varies based on phone model). Once you click on the link your phone will more than likely ask if you trust the source of the content. Go ahead and click "Continue" and will be asked where you want to save your picture.
• Verizon - Click on the link in the SMS text message you receive. If you are unable to click on the link by scrolling over it with the directional pad then you may have to click Options or Menu (varies based on phone model) and look for "Extract Data", "Use Address", or you may even need to press the "Send" key on your phone to get to the appropriate menu (again varies based on phone model). After clicking on the web address the browser on your phone will open and the image will be displayed along with a message indicating that your image is being sent in a separate message and that you can close your browser. Close your browser and a MMS message should be sent to your phone shortly. Once received, open the message and click "Options" and then "Save Pix".

How do I opt out of text messages? If you have mobile service with a United States carrier please text "Stop" to 757575. This will opt you out of any future text messages.

If you have mobile service with a Canadian carrier and would like to stop receiving text messages from Thwapr (Photobucket) then please send an email to support@thwapr.com stating you would like to opt out of text messages and please provide your mobile number.

Supported Devices

A device is considered supported if it can successfully download a shared picture to the phone. Most devices have the capability to view a picture, but the phone software of the phone may limit the ability to download the image to the device and set it as a wallpaper for example.

Keep in mind that if your phone is not listed that does not mean your device will not work. It just means that we have not had a chance to test or evaluate it. The service is free so if you are interested just give it a try and see if it works on your device.

Any devices marked with a " * " have not been officially tested, but are usually similar to other devices tested and are assumed to have the same characteristics.
